I had a really horrible start in life. I was bred to be used as dog bait but managed to run away. I was sent to the pound but was really scared of the other dogs – they bullied me a lot. The nice ladies at DARNA heard about me and found a lovely foster home for me. I still am not sure of other dogs and would like to be the only dog in my forever home. I love napping in the sun and think balls and sticks are the absolute best. Cuddling up and night is my favorite, and I am so happy when they humans give me lots of love and attention. I have learned lots of tricks and am able to sit and wait for food. Now that I am out of the pound, my tail always wags like crazy.

I was found in a field with 7 of my siblings, left to fend for ourselves. I was lucky that DARNA found me when they did or I might not be here today. My stomach had burst and without their help and vet treatment I don’t think I would have survived. DARNA searched to find where we had come from and managed to find my mum who had been kept in chains her whole life. I am now very healthy and have no lasting health issues. I love to play with other dogs and my favourite play mate is my brother Fido. I love other dogs and tickles from the humans. When I finally find a forever home I will need to have other dogs to play with as that’s how I love to spend my time.

I currently live at DARNA animal sanctuary with my family. I was born in the pound and it was not nice there. We had a big chance of getting extremely sick, but luckily for us, we got rescued by DARNA. I love to play with my brothers and some of the other puppies at the sanctuary. My favourite part of the day is going for walks! Now that I have grown up, I am looking for a forever home. My dream would be to have a house with one of my brothers or with other dogs as I love playing so much! I am learning new commands every day and I love giving cuddles.

I was left at the pound because I got pregnant. I had five puppies, all boys, and they were born in the pound. Luckily the DARNA team rescued me and my babies, so none of them got sick and they are now healthy happy boys. My puppies are now getting older. They don’t need me to feed them anymore are finding new families to move to. I currently live at the sanctuary but I really would like to find a home of my own now my babies are grown up. I am a really friendly girl and I love people and other dogs. The humans at the sanctuary say I’m a love bug as I always want lots of cuddles. I love walks and playing but most of all I love tickles.

I currently live at DARNA animal sanctuary with my family. I was born in the pound and it was not nice there. We had a big chance of getting extremely sick, but luckily for us we got rescued by DARNA. Myself and my brother Chuck look very similar as we both have lovey golden coats. I am an outgoing little pup who loves to play, particularly with my brother and some of the other pups at the sanctuary. I love going for walks and learning new commands. I am especially good at learning them when there is food around. My dream home would be with at least one of my brothers as we play lots together, although I would also be happy if I had someone else to play with.

I was a very lucky boy and had a great life with my owners who loved me very much. Unfortunately, they became ill and had to go to a nursing home. With no one else to take care of me, I was taken to a really scary place called ‘the pound’. I didn’t get any cuddles or playtime there, and some days I didn’t even get any food. I was relieved when the people at DARNA heard my story and came to get me. They said they are going to try to find me another home so I can be happy again. I can’t wait!

was found on the street with a broken leg. I had been beaten by a human. I tried going from door to door but nobody would let me in or help me. Then one day the DARNA team heard about me and they took me to a vet who helped to fix my leg. I had lots of surgery and stayed with a kind lady until, all my operations where complete and I had healed.

my name is Gigi and I was born in the pound. My sister Gina and I spent two long years there never knowing love or a comfortable bed. Then one day the lovely DARNA team rescued us just before they where going to end our lives. My sister Gina has now found an amazing home but I’m still looking. I absolutely love being in a foster home, my favourite things are cuddles, walks and playing. I get on really well with other dogs and cats. I’ve learned lots of tricks and the humans say I am really smart. I walk well on the lead and am great at recall. I hope I can find my forever home soon.

I was born in the pound, luckily for me DARNA heard that that I was due to be put to sleep because nobody had wanted me, and they save my life. I now live in a foster home with Monina, my best friend from the pound. When we first arrived at our foster home we were not sure of the rules as we had never ever been in a home before, however we are learning quick. I love to spend my days playing with Monina we like to rough and tumble together it is so much fun. I always follow Monina round and I like to do what she does, that is because she is my best friend. The humans say I can be a little lazy but in a good way as I just love to spend time laying about outside. I really love this thing the humans call cuddles and tickles; these are great I could spend all day having them.

We are 7 brothers and sisters (5 girls, 2 boys) who are looking for forever homes. Our mummy was abandoned at the pound when she was about to give birth to us, and we were born on the cold concrete floor. DARNA people took us to their sanctuary when we were only 2 weeks old, and helped our mummy make sure we got enough food. We are still quite young, but it has become harder and harder for our mummy to feed us all. We have started eating wet puppy food and already ready to be adopted. Our different personalities are just starting to emerge. We would really like to find forever homes soon.

I was abandoned at the pound with a serious broken hip that had been ignored. I was in so much pain and started to show aggression. This was really only due to the amount of pain I was in. The pound wanted to put me to sleep, but luckily the wonderful DARNA team pulled me from the pound and got me the treatment to help fix my hip. I am recovering well and am now ready to find a foster or forever home.

Hello, my name is Leo and I am a pure breed Griffon! I was rescued by the DARNA team from hunters who kept me in a tiny cage. I was often starved so I would be more eager to hunt. I was also used for breeding over and over again. I had never known love or a real home. I am ever so grateful to be out of that horrible situation and I can’t wait to be in a forever home of my own!

Our names are Linda and Chico and we were found on the street together by a kind man who took us both in. Unfortunately, due the COVID19 pandemic he can no longer afford to keep us, so he asked the DARNA team to help find us a new home. He says that we are super friendly and loving We are very bonded with each other and hope we can find a forever home together.

Hello, my name is Morgan and I am an ex hunting dog. Once I got too old to serve my purpose for the hunters, I was abandoned at the pound. I was reserved by a family in Italy and was ready to make my move there to live my happy ever after, but now due to the Covid 19 pandemic, my adoption has been cancelled. Luckily the DARNA team heard about my story and saved me from going back to the pound.r or forever home.

I was abandoned and left wondering the streets, I got knocked over by a car and I was left to drag myself round with a broken leg. Lots of people saw me nut nobody wanted to help. A lady found me and contacted the DARNA team. DARNA took me to their vets and I had a very long surgery to fix my leg. The humans though that I may need to have my leg amputated, but I worked really hard at the sanctuary and now I can run and play! I’m a super happy young girl and I really love to run. I love to play with my friends at the sanctuary and hope that when I find my forever home, I will have friends that live with me so that I can still play all day long.

I spent my whole life in the pound. I had never known love or a comfy bed until the DARNA team rescued me. I was soon to be put to sleep but they found me just in time. Luckily, I am now in an amazing foster home where I get a lot of love. I hope I can find a forever home where the humans treat me like this! The humans say that I am super affectionate and intelligent, and I am very eager to learn. I love going on walks…they are such a good way to burn off my energy! I love playing with the humans and these things called toys that I had never had before.

I was abandoned as a puppy in a field and DARNA helped to bring me up. I don’t know if you know much about my breed but I am a very energetic dog and I would love to have a forever home that has a garden and a dog friend for me to play with as I love to play with all my friends at the sanctuary. I also love long walks and playing with toys. My dream home would be out in the country, so I have lots of space to run around in.

I was born in the pound. Nobody wanted me, so they wanted to put me to sleep. DARNA heard about my story and came to save me. I am now in a foster home, with amazing foster brothers and sisters, I love playing and running around the garden. I have loads of energy and the humans say I am too smart, as I have learned how to climb the fence. The humans say I am a very loving and affectionate boy. My dream home would be somewhere with a secure garden and another dog to play with.

Hello, my name is Pearl and I spent my whole life in a tiny cage. I have damage to my eyes and my body is full of tumors. The people at DARNA saved me and took me straight to the vet. They took as many tumors out as they could, but I will have to go back again to get rid of them all. They also did some surgery on my eyes so I can see better. Due to spending all my time in the cage, I had worn away all my front teeth trying to escape. Despite all I have been through I am still an affectionate lovable old girl who enjoys the love of humans - something I never knew before

I love it here, but I dream of a forever home with other dogs to play with. The humans say I am a funny, cheeky girl. I am very friendly love playing with my siblings and the other pups at the sanctuary.

Hello, my name is Rumba! My owners decided that at 8 years old I was too old to be a part of their family, so they took me to the vets to be put to sleep. Luckily, the vet refused. I spent a few weeks in a cage at the vets before someone contacted the DARNA team. I have now been rescued and am looking forward to what life has to offer. I am a loving and friendly dog…I just want a second chance.

I was left at the pound because I got pregnant. I only got pregnant because my owner refused to sterilise me. I had my puppies - 6 girls and 2 boys, in a cell there on the cold hard concrete floor. The pound only provided me with a box for them – no bed, comfort or love. Many puppies die in the pound due to illness and I was so worried for my babies. Luckily the DARNA team heard about my situation and rescued me and my babies. I currently live at the new DARNA sanctuary and me and my babies get lots of attention love and care. Once my babies are old enough the team will help to find them and myself a loving forever home. The humans say I am a great mum and I am good with other dogs and cats.

We are T and Rex! The DARNA team ended up taking us in when our previous owner decided they did not want us anymore. I (T) am an extremely sweet and loving boy. I love to play and cuddle with my brother. We are inseparable. I follow my brother’s lead and am a bit more shy than he is. He is much more outgoing and curious than I am. We are both very affectionate, and we love it when the humans wake up in the morning and we run in to give them lots of attention. Our old owner didn’t spend much time teaching us things, but our lovely foster has already taught us to go to the toilet outside and we are working hard at walking well on lead. We also learned some fun tricks to impress you with! We are especially good at these tricks when there is food involved!

When I was a tiny baby, I was thrown out of a moving car in a carrier bag. Luckily someone saw it happen and called DARNA to help me. They took me in, nursed me back to health, and taught me that not all humans are bad. I may only be small but I have LOTS of personality. I currently live at the DARNA sanctuary where I have lots of dog friends to play with and it is so fun! I am a super friendly loving girl with lots of energy for play time. I’m looking for a forever with other dogs as playing is my favourite thing to do well that and cuddles.

I was left in the pound during the COVID-19 crisis and I got sick. When DARNA heard that I was poorly they rescued me and treated my illness. Because of their quick action I am 100% fit and ready to find a forever family! I am such an affectionate boy and I love people soooo much. I love spending time getting tickles and rubs. I have also been told that I walk really well on the lead and that I’m a very good boy. I love spending time relaxing in the sun and playing with my toys. The humans describe me as the happiest dog in the world as I am always wagging and sharing my love.

Our names are Rocky and Sol and we have always been together. We are very bonded and are very reliant on each other. Our previous owner died and their family didn’t want us so they took us to the vet to be put to sleep. The vet refused but we spent two long weeks in a cage there before someone told DARNA about it. We have been living at the sanctuary ever since. We are still quite nervous but are getting more confident each day. We love playing with each other and once we get to know a human, we love strokes and cuddles. It does take us a little time to become trusting, but we really want to find a family to love again!

We are Terry (right) and Otto (left)! We were born in the pound and are brother and sister. Nobody wanted to adopt us and we were due to be put to sleep. Luckily DARNA heard and rescued us, now we are in a foster home waiting for a forever home together. The humans say that I (Terry) am affectionate, with a sweet nature and I love belly rubs and lots of fuss. I am super clever and very keen to please. My brother (Otto) is a little more shy and can be nervous about new people at first, but once he gets to know you he is a cheeky little chap! The humans say he is an extremely sweet and affectionate boy. We both love to play with each other and are very bonded so need a home together.

DARNA found me on the streets unable to walk. I had a pretty severe case of leishmaniasis and I had been left to die. I was so scared and nervous. The DARNA team helped nurse me back to health. I am still incredibly nervous but living at the sanctuary has helped me to become more confident. I am gaining trust with people day by day. I am looking for a forever home with other dogs as I am more confident around them than humans. However, once I get to know a human, I am very affectionate.

I did not have a particularly good start in life. I was abused and beaten by my previous owner and when the DARNA team rescued me, I was covered in scabies. They helped to heal my physical wounds, however I still have some emotional wounds that need healing. I am very nervous of humans and I am looking for a home with a very understanding and patient people. I also need somewhere with a garden as I prefer outside spaces. I am strong and beautiful…I hope I get a lovely adopter soon!

I was born in the pound and wasn’t doing very well there. DARNA came to rescue me and I’m now living with an amazing foster. She has 3 other dogs who I play with alllll day! I have a ton of energy, and my favorite things to do are play, eat, and cuddle. I don’t let my short legs stop me from being part of the action. I am a confident, curious, guy and am learning a lot as I grow! My dream home would be with children and I definitely need a doggie friend to play with and learn from.
